You know, it is very rare that I enjoy "story time" from Substack. This one however is just wonderful, and makes me wish I could work there too. It really is a loss of such places, which seem to be as much a group of friends as coworkers.

At the company I was recently at, a visiting reporter noted to me that we employed more ex-journalists, for PR, than worked at the local city newspaper.

Have you ever covered the impact - or seemingly to me - lack of impact, of Flat Earth News by the way?

I read Flat Earth News when it came out. As an insider it was depressing to recognise my world. And, of course, books come and go with few people really noticing. So, sadly, the lack of impact didn't surprise me.

Enjoyed reading this one with a Barnsley (or at least Yorkshire) accent in my head. Very true tut times. I remembered the story of the two brothers - the Youtube video confirmed my memory. Sharon had a good voice - nice tune.
