The egregore notion (at least as I'm attempting to headfuck it - and others I've been reading) isn't exactly supernatural as such, as in 'like a spirit' thing. It's kind of in the category of things also occupied by sentience or consciousness. But avoiding woo woo makes it hard to think about, let alone discuss. It goes along with another notion I have which is that ideas have *us* and not vice versa. These areas of thought are disadvantaged in our current language model, which we think is adequate to express everything - which means that anything that can't be expressed in the same ways as other material concepts must be some kind of new age bollocks. Also, I think what you say about it is spot on. Where I'm hovering is that the imperfect sensing and processing tools may also extend to language.
